Our client came to us with the requirement of removing a large and highly sensitive 9 Ton crankshaft from a confined machinary space. In addition to the main body of the crankshaft, 3 integral conrods had to be supported and moved independently to allow clearance and careful removal from the piston bores.
We developed and submitted a task specific Lifting Operations Plan to the client which was approved. Specific rigging equipment for the task was sourced and installed on location.
Our team successfully removed the crankshaft and conrods from the machine space and lifted to the clients workshop for overhaul by a 3rd party vendor.
We then reinstalled the newly refurbished unit back into its original location. The Lifting Operation and overall scope of work was completed ahead of schedule.
